_What are the measures of a man? To some, it’s the amount on money and power he holds. For with these things dignitaries, deity and dominance are created. Fear and superiority can be invoked on to those who may not measure of to these traits, especially is authority and governance are edified in place of humility and care to those granted such things. Others tend to believe that success is not tangible or monetary, but it is in the way one lives their lives—maximizing every potential, giving back, sharing their gifts, talents and skills in order to help the greater good of mankind. So what measures a man? His outlook? Perspective? He may be one who ascends to the mountaintop because he knows that is our truest destination, he does not look down upon those that have yet to fulfill their dreams, but a man looks ahead to the next level all the while clearing a path for those that may follow him to find. He cares for his family and provides, even when no answers are given, he finds resolution and with knowledge, experience and confidence, he makes strides to excel. He no longer becomes the hand out, but lends that hand to help others grown beyond their current circumstance. He protects what he cherishes and is willing to fight for what is right. These are the true measures of a man, a man who is Royal.

Hey there good people! It’s time to get up , get out and do “sumthin”! Don’t let all your life pass by. It’s a new and time to be better than the day before. There’s an heir of excitement that comes over many when Friday comes. Stop and ask yourself this afternoon, “Have I done my best this week?”
Make this best of this day, after all the work week is over, so what happened is what happened. The only thing you can control is how you will handle what’s next! Get on your grind and do something beyond yourself. Don’t just ask your friends to pray or wish you luck, reciprocate the favor! :) Maybe you’re hoping he will call—maybe he won’t; don’t you dare stress over it. Maybe they forgot to say “thanks so much” for all the work you have put in, perhaps they chose not to, oh well you know how well you did! Pat yourself on the back and keep it moving honey! Those things we take for granted are the very things granted to be taken from us, so if you’ve been used, get up from being a doormat, dust yourself off and chuck up the deuces. They’ll soon realize they had what they needed but didn’t want to believe it was in you! This is your life to do something with don’t be too scared to compete. Don’t stand around and lose your ground or you’ll end up on the street! You want to be your own boss? Pay attention to management for a crash course of do’s and don’ts. Write a vision and make it plain. Make attainable goals for yourself and track and measure your outcome and progress. Be sure to self-assess and evaluate yourself honestly. Find a mentor who is doing what you envision yourself doing and make it a healthy relationship when in communication. In your spare time, practice and build up your side hustle until your passion takes over your day job. Believe in yourself and know a higher power has your back. Don’t get too excited; find classes or workshops to help you remain a cut above the rest. Lastly, don’t tell everybody everything, show them! The more people know the more they can chip away at your vision. There’s no time limit, maybe you know others who have taken off with it and you feel it’s too late, it’s okay! Just know it’s time to get it in! Whoever says nice guys always finish last clearly didn’t have on their running shoes! Ready…set…go for yours! written by J Tramaine ("Virtuosity: Rise N Grind" on tumblr or thompsonj719@yahoo.com) If you haven't tried one of these yet you're seriously missing out. Not only are these just awesome looking but they taste great as well. The price isn't the same as maybe one of the more popular brands but I can assure you the craftsmanship alone is worthy of support. That's why I reached out to Marcus (founder/owner of Original Hip Hop Chocolates) a few months ago to talk about some ideas I had to introduce the chocolates to people in my area. I think they're great for any event, not just special events because the chocolates alone can make an event special. I mean seriously, who doesn't like chocolate? _ Through his website each piece goes for $15 and up to $25 which also comes in a nicely wrapped box. At Wreck Shop events and ciphers each piece goes for $5 to $7. Just consider the craftsmanship that goes into creating something like this. Designer, cultural engineer and fellow activist Marcus Gray receives the cosign from many of Hip Hops greats like Afrika Bambaataa, DJ Q-Bert, Crazy Legs and Mos Def as well as many more whom can be seen on his website: http://hiphopchocolate.moonfruit.com/# _Before making the decision to purchase about 30 of these it wasn't for the purpose of maximizing profits. I know in an economy like this a lot of people are more likely to buy a chocolate bar in a store for $1. It was our decision to introduce a product like this to add some more authenticity to the scene. I don't know if it's something in the chocolate or if its the art aspect of it but something about it sparked some awesome conversations and inspired creativity as well as innovative thinking among many. _ We hope to continue carrying such an awesome product and provide the fans and artists with some original Hip Hip chocolate that they can take home with them after a show or a cipher so we need you to support by coming out to our events. We have samples of the chocolate at our events for you to try also! _ Check out this interview with founder/ owner of Original Hip Hop Chocolates, Marcus Gray: http://www.myspace.com/hiphopchocolate/blog/437475175 |
