I came across Brailles music a few years ago and liked the messages he conveyed through lyrics and the really positive vibes I got. Not everyone shares the same views but respect is due.
I had to share this again for those who missed it when Oblivious released this a couple months ago. Definitely worth the listen and if you really like what you hear check out more of his work. Lots of local features by Paranom, Moroney, Heddshotts, Aztech, Judge The Disciple and Cali connect Ben Grimm.

The duo of Elevated Soul and the Magnificent Ruffians are back at it with Kingsmen! After the huge success of their first double cd, (Magnificent Soul) the Elevated Ruffians knew they had to work together again to create more fresh hip hop for the fans.
This album however has a specific dedication to the great Ben E. King. Hence the name, “Kingsmen”. Each song on this EP has a beat that was flipped or sampled or inspired by a previous work of Ben E. King. So once again you will get the old school blues and soul vibe on this album because that is exactly how they intended it to be. With that said, sit back, turn on the blue lights, get a cigar and a small glass of crown royal and play this album. The Elevated Ruffians Kingsmen album…. Super Dynamite Soul!!!
You might have seen him performing at the D.E.N.C.I.T.Y. Poetry Slam, or wreckin shop at the Freedom Cypher, The Formula or the Freestyle Clinic! Maybe you've never heard of him before. Either way, today you're going to get a real treat from our good friend Seti aka K9!
Monsta Mind & Peace Vibes Ent brings you Seti's "Extraterrestrial" LP which is an ill blend of Hip Hop, Blues & Rock together into one. It's not your average sound and doesn't quite fit perfectly into any genre of music. That's what's so great about it! Each track bridges the gap between musical palettes, taking the listener through various chambers of Seti's mind reflecting a wide array of themes and genres. So take my word for it when I say this project is a refreshment for any open minded person.
Check out the full album on Monsta Minds website! If you like that, make sure you check out his live performance at his album release party @ Fizz Eds on 3/1/13.
L PRO presents Vertigo, a collection of joints produced by native Portland producer 5th Sequence.
This record is the follow up to their EP “Equilibrium” which was released earlier in 2011. Equilibrium did well with its release by getting fans around the world familiar with L PRO and 5th Sequence.
Both L PRO and 5th Sequence were said to bring back the template of historic veterans, Pete Rock and CL Smooth; and 5th Sequence and L PRO with their release of Equilibrium truly brought back the flavor of the golden age of hip hop.
L PRO and 5th Sequence present Vertigo as a complete piece of work that consists of true lyrical skill and raw beats produced by 5th Sequence and others such as Arkitek and DVS from L PRO’s previous group Grassrootz.
The opening intro to Vertigo brings clever scratches, banging drums and a nice salutation, “Welcome to Vertigo!” Scratches of Pro’s voice saying, “now you know my name” ring so true after hearing this joint. With guest appearances by Asa, Angel, Tokyo Nelson, Mic Crenshaw, Destro Destructo and Pricetag; this record is full of good music.

North Carolina’s own Supastition releases 'The Blackboard EP', a free 8-track digital EP. The project serves as a “thank you” to the listeners who continued to support his music after his sudden departure from the music business in 2010. The Blackboard is about returning to the basics of emceeing and rediscovering that vintage sound that Supastition has been known for since his debut album in 2002.
The project features the critically acclaimed, Yada Yada, the conceptual Best Worst Day, and the boom bap inspired “Indestructible”. The only guest appearances on The Blackboard EP are the DJ duo, Faust & Shortee, and German-based vocalist Dominique. Production on the EP is handled by longtime producers Marco Polo, M-phazes, Veterano, the Mighty DR, and Croup as well as Rik Marvel and Dirty Art Club.
