The House of Hip Hop is a centralized meeting place for Bostons' Hip Hop community. It take's place on the 3rd Sunday of every month at The Democracy Center in Cambridge from 6 to 9pm. It's where music, art, spoken word, food, culture and knowledge come together under the same roof. There's no entry fee and it's an all ages event. *Donations are accepted.*
At the House of Hip Hop there are a few different activities going on such as a Small Business Workshop from 4 to 5pm, Art Showcasing, The Freedom Cypher and The Vibrary. The Freedom Cypher starts at 6pm and goes til 9pm, MC's and Singers share their gifts over the music of some of the area’s most talented beat makers, composers, producers, live instrumentalists & DJs. Each month a different musician provides the sounds for emcees, poets and singers from across city and state lines to come together and share the microphone. Sometimes improvised, sometimes written, the inspiration is infectious and we invite the community at large to watch, participate and network. You don't have to be an artist to come experience Hip Hop either. Fans and spectators are also welcome to attend for FREE! At The Democracy Center 45 Mount Auburn St. Cambridge on the THIRD Sunday of every month from 4 to 9 pm. |
The Vibrary is a vinyl library for producers to sample records on the spot. You just have to bring your own flash drive.
